This historic image of the Dyckman Oval was captured by Percy Loomis Sperr in the 1930s in the Inwood section of northern Manhattan. The Oval, often called “Harlem’s Own,” was a melting pot where all New Yorkers could gather and simply enjoy a ball game. The stadium was home to the famed New York Cubans.
