Description
Inwood’s connection to film is nearly as old as the craft itself. Early film scouts regarded the area as a prime location for cowboy films. Inwood Hill, it was said, easily passed for the American west. The Dyckman Theatre, as if in a nod to the Inwood’s once bucolic simplicity, overlooks a cornfield in this photograph from the 1910s. Students studying agriculture at Public School 52 may have maintained the plot.
