This 1933 photograph captures a squatter colony on the Harlem River at West 207th Street in the Inwood section of northern Manhattan. During the Great Depression many lived in shacks and houseboats along the New York City waterfront.
This is a reproduction of an original negative by Percy Loomis Sperr.
